In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song that time, within just six months. It combines pop and reggaeton that was not just a new ear to reggaeton, but also the popularity of Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016, compared to two in the year 2015. In 2017, during the peak of Despacito's fame 19, 19 tracks mostly Spanish were included in the Billboard Top 100. In 2020 there will be 41 songs from this genre. In the wake of Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, many popular musicians began to join forces with reggaeton musicians. Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team in the project MIA MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna and Maluma were on the same track in Medellin, 2019 In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton stars were complaining about their genre's shift towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation namely Rauw Alejandro wanted to keep reggaeton evolving. The genre often incorporated elements of electronic dance and other genres.
